This is a listing for a vintage Santo Domingo necklace strung with Morenci turquoise heishi and tab cut beads. The artist cut and hand rolled the turquoise heishi and tab cut "corn" bead accents. The stone quality is superb with a gorgeous display of blue from light to medium to saturated high blue shades and a striking scattered and webbed matrix of mahogany brown matrix. Quartz and pyrite are sprinkled throughout these beads increasing their beauty. Some of the largest Mediterranean coral heishi I've encountered in a necklace was used as accents. The beads are finished in a cotton "squaw" wrap that remains secure.
Everything about the necklace is exceptional and there is no damage anywhere. The hanging length is approximately 14.75 inches for an approximate total wearing length of 29.5 inches. These are generous sized beads and the necklace weighs 84 grams, which is a heavy weight for a single strand of beads and reflects their density. The corn shaped tabs measure 18 to 20 mm in length. The heishi is perfectly graduated with the largest beads about 12mm across and the smallest beads 6mm.
The length of the coral is 15mm. This is a strong simple statement piece of stunning beauty.
