We believe it was created circa 1960 or perhaps earlier. The beautiful turquoise appears to be from the Royston Mine region in Nevada. This traditional old Native American necklace was executed with attention to detail and is in very good vintage condition (please see ALL photos for an accurate detailed depiction). The sterling silver hook and eye clasp is in very good working condition.
The natural turquoise heishi beads are all. In very good condition with no chips or cracks. The front heishi have tiny shell heishi separators and there are two (2) coral pieces at the ends of the necklace. The heishi discs measure from approx. 3/8" to 1/8" diameter and the necklace measures approx. This piece weighs 43.2 grams - 1.39 ounces. This classic old Navajo natural Royston turquoise and coral heishi necklace would make a fine addition to any Twentieth Century Native American Turquoise Jewelry or Historic Cultural Arts collection.
