Santo Domingo Pueblo has been famed for their art of beautiful hand made heishi beads. They have been using their special techniques for making these beads for hundreds of years. This magnificent example of Kewa (Santo Domingo) heishi is a 12 strand necklace measuring 20 1/2 in length.It features the finest hand cut natural Royston turquoise beads. The turquoise heishi end with coral beads and olive shell heishi. The closure is a hook and eye type and is followed with sterling silver beads and cones. The jocla is 4 strands of natural royston turquoise with white clam shell and coral beads at the ends before the tie. The necklace can be worn with or with out the jocla as it can be taken off if you wish.
