The turquoise in the necklace are bluish rondelles that are well matched for size and color. There is some dark matrix on the turquoise in the necklace. The heishi shells used for spacers on the necklace are brown & white. The necklace is a traditional squaw wrap (without a closure) that easily slips over the head to wear. The round, graduated turquoise jaclas are obviously old and include blue, green and blue-green turquoise. They appear to be hand-cut. There is a nice brown matrix on most of the turquoise stones. There are four coral beads at the top of the jaclas and white shell in the center of the hanging jaclas. The jaclas have been tied on the the necklace as is common in older necklaces and cannot be removed. I don't see any chips or cracks in the tuquoise nuggets or the heishi beads in the necklace. Here could be tiny chips on the necklace from being worn in the past. The thread on the squaw wrap on the necklace has started to unwind but is still secure.

The stringing used on the necklace & jaclas is vintage but appears to be secure. The graduated turquoise in the jaclas may have tiny chips but seem to be secure on the jacla. Overall, this wonderful vintage Native American necklace with jaclas is in very good condition.

The old graduated turquoise jaclas are really superb and difficult to find! They are a great hanging length at 5 3/4. My mother wore the necklace infrequently since it was part of her collecting. Length of 2-strand necklace (without jaclas): 32. Materials: Turquoise, heishi shells, white shells, coral and fabric for squaw wrap.

Hanging length of jaclas: 5 3/4. Total wearable length with jaclas: 37 3/4. Weight of necklace with jaclas: 85.5 grams. Traditional old Native American turquoise necklaces with wonderful old turquoise jaclas are difficult to find and this one is in quite beautiful.

The colors will look great with many different outfits. This vintage turquoise necklace & jaclas would be a fine addition to a collection of Native American art & jewelry. No charge for packing materials.
