Hand carved Zuni fetishes in BEAR shapes. The bears were thought by this tribe to bring good luck to the wearer. This is from my personal collection, I wasn't going to sell it, but I've got some nice buyers here, so I figured I'd go ahead & share the best stuff & hope that someone nice finds it. Here is why I kept this one for myself. Because you can't get these anymore! The Zuni have pretty much, except for a very few, stopped carving these fetishes because they are so labor intensive. They've pretty much gone into the Casino business now, so finding real Native American fetish necklaces, that are truly carved by the Zuni, that is not an easy task. I can tell by the shape of the bears, plus the good quality of some of the gems used turquoise, amber, mother of pearl, jasper, onyx, spiny oyster, coral, etc. That this is a totally collectible piece.

I cannot replace this, so don't missing out, if you like it, please go for it because these good old fetish necklaces like this are rare finds these days. An awesome piece of vintage Native American jewelry. This looks stunning, you're sure to get compliments when you wear it. Clasp is Sterling, with silver cones as well.

The fetishes are separated by real heishi, it's carved from shell & dark brown. Turquoise bear in the center is 1 wide. 2 strands here - One is 28 inches long (with the turquoise bear hanging a tad bit below), the other strand is 27 long.

On beautiful dark seashell heishi. You can easily slip it on over your head. There's a charm bracelet listed separately that'd go really well with this, so do check out my other auctions.
