Santo Domingo Pueblo people are known for their wonderful lapidary skills, by gridding rocks or shell & then cutting them into squares & grinding them down to beads.. If you can run your hand down a strand without feeling "ridges", then your lucky to have a piece that was done by one who is highly skilled. The latter is the perfect example of what is in this necklace.. The beads are perfectly rounded!Looking through my loupe, it actually looks to be a dyed substance. It has a 7" sterling extender so you can wear this from 25-32" & wear it high or low. Total weight with earrings is 3.1 ounces.. From the curvature of the ear wire, the earrings measure just under 2.
I have no idea what kind of house my used, vintage pieces come from, so if this matters, please consider something new. Pictures can tend to make items appear larger & more magnified than they actually are, so please read measurements.. The magnification can bring out every little detail, but in actuality, these things are hard to notice, when worn. PLEASE NOTE :Colors may vary photographically & items can appear lighter or darker due to lighting. There will be variations from computer to computer, with newer electronics, making the item to appear more vibrant..
