This is a necklace hand strung by Zuni artist Sandra Quandelacy. It features her beautiful corn maiden hand carved out of green turquoise and is strung on a double strand of shell heishi. It's in excellent preowned condition with no damage. The artist signed a silver tag with her hallmark "Quandelacy" and the silver cones are stamped sterling with a starburst pattern along the lower edge. I see her beautiful carved corn maiden fetishes but rarely see her necklaces anymore. The turquoise carving is a medium saturated green with a caramel brown matrix, possibly from the Kingman or Royston mine. It measures 2.5 inches in length. It's 5/8th of an inch in width and. The heishi beads are 2mm thick. The total wearing length is 27 inches. So it's very easy to keep the clasp closed and just slip it over your head. The heishi is a very dark chocolate brown sprinkled with multi stone accents of larger yellow shell heishi, purple spiny oyster, red coral, pink coral, jet and blue and green turquoise. This is a wonderful find for the person who loves Quandelacy's iconic cornmaident and would enjoy wearing it as a necklace. It will arrive first class with signature confirmation.
